yes but i am only talking about the adventure mode. i think this could be made into something really special.

woah nice pacman one! any ideas where it is from? i would love one of those ;)

i think the corridor mode should stay pretty much with the same gameplay, but the adventure mode could be played around with.

i would love the adventure mode to be something like "secret of mana / evermore" style, with both the mana rpg elements and (adventure) fighting elements in there.

Well, we could have it very simply.

Intro
1: Piece of the "IT" drops on Earth, carrying over some of the aliens. that creates a Crater close to a city, and they have to call in a Guardian to attack the crater, and need to go through the Ruined City and then to the Crater where they face off a smaller version of IT(Stuck in the ground.)

2: After going through some of the Landers Information, it seems that there's several other "najeons" in existance, and Naju was just one part of it. With that information, the Earth Unity Society decides to "scavenge" what the other planets have, and that they have found out that Naji is the closest of the Najeons and sends off a group of Guardians to investigate it.

Hmm?

i like this a lot

Basic ideas for the sequel / Re: Game Music

woah yah man listening now you rock! great stuff!

I made a quick search in my backups just now and unfortunatley found just one little TGL medley i made and used in the past in some of my chillout dj sets. its a pretty simple fx mashing of the end melody. made a quick upload to sendspace (just for fun):

well,
it is a game in my opinion that COULD have been great. the gameplay is fun and smooth, but the game seems half finished and the story/rpg elements are only half there. I really liked it personally it is very addictive blasting those Armada creatures, but a good friend of mine that we play oldies together absolutley hated this game and found it pointless so... ;)

Even if we can afford 3d gfx I think it's still better to keep vertical scrolling SHMUP + top down adventure.

yup personally i agree, just thought i would post this as a general idea as i saw a there was a bit of a 2d/3d debate

maybe a google docs account can be created for this project, with participating members all having access to the documents online. this could serve as a sort of development hq for all the files related to the plot and production.

i have only played the dreamcast version, but from what i know i think the online one is free.

Basic ideas for the sequel / Re: Game Music

i have had all the midi files for the tgl music for some years now. experimented with some in the past just a bit.
i'll see if i can find the files, though making new remixes would be the best i think. but, the music should be tied to the plot, graphics and gameplay, so i think some more progress on that should be made.

maybe ill try playing around with something for the opening theme and see what you guys think :)

oh i agree completely, i just posted that link per the request to hear my music.
i do think though a hybrid 8bit/new feel would be amazing. like all the synths and sounds bieng 8bit and minimalistic nes style, with for example some backing string section and/or ambient sound textures.
