Rom Hacks, MODs, Plugins / Ram data info request
June 27, 2018, 10:59:50 AM
I dont know if people are still active around here with knowledge of some of the things that i am looking to have answers to.
Essentially what i am looking for is a document that shows pointers in ram for like, almost everything.
The idea is, that i want to be able to alter how things in the game work, through ram.
Similar to im guessing what MLPerry did when he created the old tgl randomizer, but do it in a controlled manner, and expand on what he did greatly.
If Optomon is still around, i would guess that he might have some/all of that info, but if anyone has anything it would be SUPER helpful.
MLPerry did some good work in the early days of randomizers as a whole, but i want to take up the mantle and expand upon what he did, control it much more, and allow for far greater customization compared to what he did, without actually editing the rom through assembly.

Does anything like this exist?

Rom Hacks, MODs, Plugins / TGL Randomizer Interface
September 11, 2015, 09:01:16 AM
Hey MLPerry, now that the randomizer has gotten super complicated, and is getting to the point where its going to HEAVILY modify the game, is there any chance that we may see a Zelda Randomizer style user interface in the future that would allow us to pick and choose how heavily we want to modify the game?

I was talking to fcoughlin about his randomizer, and he uses a similar function to yours, but he created a complete program interface using visual studio to do so (no idea what your programming experience is)

Now dont get me wrong, i am not at all griping about the current form of it, im just talking about at some point down the line once its refined if thats even a possibility? (I dont know EXACTLY how the current randomizer works, only what you've explained to me briefly on here)

Either way. Appreciate all the hard work you have put into it and cant wait for the next iteration to come out to blast through naju more than i already do :D

Rom Hacks, MODs, Plugins / For Optomon!!!!
September 07, 2015, 07:37:18 AM
Hey Optomon, using the randomizer a ton lately has gotten us trying to figure out a way to Randomize TGL Secret (normal TGL is far too easy for us anymore.)
However we cannot thanks to a couple of corridors which have entry requirements that make it impossible.

4 & 6 come to mind immediately, and i cant off the top of my head think of any others that might need adjusting.

Basically what we are asking for, is if theres a way that you could modify a SINGLE copy of the TGL Secret rom, to change JUST THOSE corridors back to their original corridor entries, thereby allowing us to randomize TGL Secret for an INTENSE experience.

Possible?

Optomon,

Do you know off hand, or can you look into HOW the doors on the defense system are coded to open? is it algorithm based? does each door have an independant time? becasue i know i have personally seen some of the doors take up to 3 seconds to open
