Welcome. It lights a soft spot inside me to see someone new to me be devoted to this game after all these years.

Rom Hacks, MODs, Plugins / Re: For Optomon!!!!

I see. Yeah that is possible, would take a little while though, it's easier to change back than to make the original change, though I might need to make it something else than what it originally was due to space.

They are probably assigned a random amount of time after they close, lasting no more than a few seconds. I can check it.

Is it expanded in file size? That would be the biggest bonus. Also is there a download?

There was a big blind race of this about a week ago. 5 people raced it blind, mostly TGL runners.
http://www.twitch.tv/shinerccc/c/6217173
ShinerCCC was the only person to finish it (due to length mostly, 4+ hour races tend to die), so I'll only link to his VOD, but it also featured both the WR holder for 100 and any%. Sadly I couldn't compete in it as I was working, and also sadly no one had posted here before the race, as it was fun times (for what I could watch), ah well.
I just watched that whole thing. Took a long time to download, but was worth it. Closest thing I've seen to a Guardian Legend gaming party. I liked how they knew everything about the original game and it's quirks and nuances. The reactions from Shiner are priceless. He used a lot of tactics involving the double saber and the backshot weapon.

Only possible through rom expansion. You would need to convert TGL rom to use the Paperboy 2 mapper (UOROM). Then you could double the rom size; but you'd need to figure out how to recode it to gather level info from other parts of the rom.

I think I played through all of Section Z glitches like this once.

I believe Zohar has version 1. Version 2 probably a backup on some computer I have.

General Talk - simple and fun / Re: Retro Duo Portable 2.0 users, I need your help!

I think the music will play differently in almost all games on some NES clone consoles. It might have have been the retro duo where I saw this back in 2007. The square channels had their timbres switched around on almost every game we played. In other words, all the notes, tempo, bass and percussion are correct, but the leads are using the wrong "instruments". Is that what happened?

This would be the final version. I don't have any intention of updating it further. If I did have a next project, it would probably be an improvement on the dungeon randomizer.

Rom Hacks, MODs, Plugins / Re: Game genie Pal version
October 25, 2013, 06:04:49 AM
I believe the US and PAL versions of the game have memory in the rom configured differently, like the entire rom is shifted by a few bytes. Therefore, game genie's code will not work in the same manner. All the address are increased by two if I remember correctly. Also, I definitely agree about the box art being superior in EU. Nice to see someone from Denmark investing interest in TGL, I have some family there (but I do not speak the language).

Overeducated and unemployed, I haven't done much since 2008 when I completed my BA, other than work on nintendo games that never get completed, hold minimum wage jobs for less than 2 months at a time, bomb job interviews, move into my mom's basement, lose all my money to medical debt, and get depressed. I recently enrolled back into school with the hope of getting a connection for job experience and learn new skills. Talking about what I do to anyone is not fun at all, and I often withdraw from people completely.
It's incredible what can change in just a couple of years. I had a BA in a field I hated, and wanted to evolve closer to software development. After returning to school for a year, I received a CIS certificate, which helped me land a part time job for six months at the college, and later a job as a software QA. I have been at that job for over a year now, and have been doing very well there. I have also been married to a wonderful woman in this time frame, and I am several months from finishing what is undoubtedly going to be my most ambitious work... Pyron. My life has become immensely stable and exciting, all thanks to a turnaround I've started around the time this post was made.

February 24th sounds correct for 3.3 I believe. I had 3.2 released prior to February and 3.3 during February.

The Guardian Legend / Re: Corridor 10
April 03, 2013, 06:14:15 AM
I think he's actually referring to Corridor 10 in the real game... I remember this being a glitch in TGL Secret back when this was a puzzle for one of the corridors, but not for the actual game. And if I remember correctly it was because of a typo in the data by either me or the original developers.
