Where do we begin...

(may contain spoilers!)

- that final f%%ker from Silent Bomber (PS1). Such an awesome game, and pretty damn hard too, but once this a-hole shows up, the difficulty jumps from 'pretty damn hard' to 'totally unplayable', and that's for one sole reason: NO CHECKPOINTS BEFORE THE ACTUAL FIGHT. Still haven't beat him and the game :(
- any boss from the Metal Gear (Solid) series
- the Resident Evil games have a good selection, let's see: Plant 42 from RE1, the alligator from RE2, Nemesis from RE3, that guy you should shoot with the sniper rifle at the rooftop in Code Veronica, Salazar from RE4 and most of the bosses in RE5. Woo!
- Shub-Niggurath (Quake)
- Xan (Unreal Tournament '99)
- Dark Fact (Ys I Eternal)
- Fountaine from BioShock
- any boss from Gears Of War, at least 1-2 (I have GoW 3, but haven't played it yet)
- Hydra from God Of War
- Not technically a boss, but the final massacre from Kane & Lynch: Dead Men made my blood pump in the ears
- Same for Marathon 2: no boss, technically, but the fight itself is amazing, as you have nanoseconds to decide what to do
- Any boss from the Contra series, LOL! (Alien Genitalia FTW)
- And of course...

...Seven Force from Gunstar Heroes 1/2!!!

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere here, but there is a video made by Cinemassacre's Mike Matei (a friend and colleague of James 'AVGN' Rolfe). Here:

I hope his #1 pick will attract more fans ;)

I like old-school anime! Ghost In The Shell, Cyber City Oedo 808, Akira and Jin-Roh are my absolute faves. Runners up: Evangelion, Weiss Kreuz, Sailor Moon, Dominion Tank Police, Phantom Quest Corp, Angel Sanctuary (never read the manga tho), Battle Angel Alita, Genocyber, Vampire Hunter D, Ninja Scroll, Windaria. Not a big fan of Miyazaki, however Laputa and Princess Mononoke were great, but still my favorite directors are Mamoru Oshii and Yoshiaki Kawajiri!

Of the 'new school' I liked Rozen Maiden (DESUDESUDESU) and Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex (the first season is meh-okay, but the second one is absolutely amazing, especially the last few episodes)

I'm mostly into old hard rock and heavy metal (that's my Mom's heritage, as she loved them, too). My favorite bands are Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, early Def Leppard, KISS, and so on, but my two absolute faves are DARK ANGEL (death/thrash metal) and VOIVOD (progressive/avantgarde metal/rock/industrial)

I'm also into EBM, industrial, synth-pop, video game and anime OSTs and even a little bit J-Pop :D So to me, there are mostly two music genres: 'I like' and 'I don't like' :D

General Talk - simple and fun / Re: What you busy with?
October 15, 2012, 12:24:31 PM
I'm currently occupied with those:
- moving to a new apartment (hopefully)
- Megiddo City (my FPS indie game, currently doing some spritework and proof-of-concept screenshots)
- my artworks, mostly remaking/colorizing old pics (sty tuned for my mindblowing Parasite Eve fanart, LOL)
- I'm also dying to resume my writing, but can't do that yet due to the things listed above

Sounds rather Borg'ish to me! :skull:

UPDATE

Alrrright, here's more! None of them are Mecha Musume, but I've decided not to create 100500 threads. Anyways, here:

Oh hi, Duke Nukem 3D!

Some kind of an ethereal temple

Oh hi, Castlevania!

Yup, Sergei Savenko is my real name

Oh hi again, Castlevania

Work / Re: Riker?k - A Guardian Legend inspired game

Back in the 90-s this hairstyle was more associated with 'badass' rather then 'emo'. Take a look at this lady from UN Squadron:

Yeah, these first two games were built on Raven Software's Vampire Engine. There was also Necrodome, a first-person driving/shooter built on the same tech

The more I look at the topic's title, the more these games come to my mind:

Take No Prisoners

Mageslayer

And maybe, just maybe, GTA 2:

The Guardian Legend / Re: Guardian Legend "fan" art

Yeah, and it's a fantastic game, especially on PS1. Would be cool if someone would make a TGL remake using isometric perspective for walking stages...

Eh, ImageShack has blocked/deleted all my old pics, but it doesn't matter now, since I've migrated to Picasa with a bunch of new ones. Here:

Surprisingly this one looks like a screenshot from a GBA game, which was an unexpected effect  :bluelander:

Nya!  XD
