I have been keeping people abreast of the changes and things that we have been going through with the randomizer throughout the process for those who DO NOT come here on my twitter @mattrick_ if anyone wants to follow me there to see things as i post them.

Also we tend to post our race times and get things organized on twitter as those of us who do regular races all use it.

Oh thats fantastic news!

I always had kind of envied the Zelda randomizer, and while i havent taken any part in the actual process of MAKING it, i do take pride in testing and playing it.
And now i can look forward to having something equally as awesome for a game i love ^_^

Hey MLPerry, now that the randomizer has gotten super complicated, and is getting to the point where its going to HEAVILY modify the game, is there any chance that we may see a Zelda Randomizer style user interface in the future that would allow us to pick and choose how heavily we want to modify the game?

I was talking to fcoughlin about his randomizer, and he uses a similar function to yours, but he created a complete program interface using visual studio to do so (no idea what your programming experience is)

Now dont get me wrong, i am not at all griping about the current form of it, im just talking about at some point down the line once its refined if thats even a possibility? (I dont know EXACTLY how the current randomizer works, only what you've explained to me briefly on here)

Either way. Appreciate all the hard work you have put into it and cant wait for the next iteration to come out to blast through naju more than i already do :D

i dont believe that can be changed..... HOWEVER, if he were to randomize the skills so that say, a multibullet were changes to have the effects of the saber, i.e. it does damage per frame, and the saber becomes an on use ability with a short window (totally useless mind you). that would be a way to force the player to relearn the game and how to deal with things.

In fact i would think that would be amazing, but wow would it be a change in gameplay

Honestly we would be fine even if they just opened up normally like any corridor would. So long as were able to progress through the game past area 4 :D

Looks like the first message i sent optomon never went through, so i sent him another, hope it isnt a duplicate.

Hopefully we get a response of either a yay or nay from him so at least he acknowledges what we want to do :D

so stupid question, if you were say, move a grimgrin to a non organic corridor, and also move the eyes, would eyes just then overwrite a different enemy sprite, thereby causing eyes in appear in place of something that would normally show up.

Example, corridor 6 volcanos shooting eyes instead of shooting crystals?

Interesting, so then how would you randomize bosses? do you just see what value gets pulled when the boss spawns, and modify that value within a range? and then once that value has been met, it removes it from happening in multiple instances? or is it possible that multiple bosses of the same type will show up when randomized?

Interesting... now are you actually decompiling the game using assembly to find the data for your randomizer??
I am curious as to how it works.

It will certainly increase the challenge, but because youre keeping the bosses damage the same, it shouldnt be a problem.

The problem came in when you had the god fleepa in corridor 1 who had like 1000 life and each one of the squids did 3 hearts of damage each.
That isnt fun, nor is it balanced.

But, a fleepa with 1000 health that does completely normal damage is much more challenging and managable. I think the only one that could be a real problem if it had a ton of health would be the blue eyegore, because hes a glass cannon normally, but outside of that the rest are totally manageable easily.
