I hope you played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters on NES so you can understand what’s going on! 🙂

So basically I show 3 ways to make Don immortal and throw the ball like crazy all the ways possible. If you wonder how to make Don immortal there are 3 ways.

  1. Get hit and throw the ball.
  2. Throw opponent and throw the ball.
  3. Make special move and throw the ball.

If you want you can read in details in the description under the video.

Thanks, hope you know this game.

Orbox C Free

Hello everyone,

I made a free version of our game that I made with my friend Nikolai – Orbox C Free. This version has 30 different levels to play. The levels are originaly created for this. Basicallly it’s like a bonus pack for the game. So check it out. It is pretty fun puzzle solving for 15-25 minuntes.

And BTW. I can share a free copy of the full game(210 levels) for youtubers who could record a video for the game. Like first play impression, or review, or something. As it could be some sort of promotion. So if you have gaming channel let me know. You help me, I help you!

Funny art

Some art looks great, some is amateur. But sometimes it’s different. This one looks like a parody. Something that Monty Python could do. Just try to imagine this in a game. She throws the fireball like some fancy enchantress. Is it funny or is it ridiculous? I don’t know 🙂

I hope the author wont read it.

More special modes for Miria

I stumbled upon that tweet. Those poses are really intresting. And this instantly gives an idea about more special modes for Miria in The Guardian Legend. She could have more versatile backpack.

Fore example that bow pose looks like for some powerful strike. That would work only in walking adventure mode. The other intresting pose is for softer and maneuver flying. She could fly to any XYZ direction with this. And very fast change the direction. And the third pose, I don’t know. Could be some other sort of fire mode or cutting the walls.

I think there could be a special section in the Gallery for stuff like that. And check that tweet it has more images.

Compile Design Documents

Hey,

If you remember there was a video a year ago showing some docs from Compile. There were Guardian Legend, MUSHA, and Aleste Gaiden.

Now you can see those on the web. Pretty intresting. I have no idea what is written. It’s in japanese.

I think each of those pictures was the idea of each stage. And that is quite terrible! Just look at that nose, haha! Crazy!

TGL Secret Edition Corridor Rush

Here is TGL Secret Edition Corridor Rush Mode by Charly. I asked him share some impressions. He written about the whole hack tho:

Well, just like the original version, you will be given all the items if you have a certain amount of money (or score… I don’t know), just the same as the original one, except that you will have all the weapon earlier than the original one. There are a lot of differences in this version and the original one. Optomon sure modified a lot of things here such as the map, the bosses (green Fleepa, orange Zib Zub, blue & red Teramute, green Eyegore, Green Grimgrin, Orange Optomon, Green IT – which used to to be the final boss of the original version, Orange Clawbot, Orange Bombarder), and also he add some big bosses as mini-bosses (there’s only one in the original version) to increase the difficulty. The best mini-boss in this version are probably the Red Optomon and Red Grimgrin.

All the way to remove all the 10 seals are totally different (except for the 1st one). The repeated weapon and items were replaced with Blue Lander or Red Lander, the shop (buy 1 of 3 items) will be harder to buy, the Corridor 21 background is different, the musics in Area 5 and Area 9 are changed, the background of the Boss Rush (Corridor 21) is different but I prefer this one more than the desert theme, and finally the different final boss : 3 Gliders with one blue, one orange and one red which will be activated by defeating the 1st 2 gliders. This final boss is much difficult than the original one. Be patient, make your way to dodge their pattern, the missiles are the big threats in this case. Can you believe that 3 gliders are the final boss in this game which make a lot of gamers have difficulty in beating the game? Probably yes, the red one moves like a berserker and release 2 red missiles which is hard to dodge. The longest boss is the Orange Bombarder, which took me about 5 mins to defeat.

Puzzles in Adventure mode

Have you played Crystalis? It’s a nice action RPG on NES. But there was a huge problem with the game. It has puzzles somewhat. But those puzzles don’t make any sense. So you just have no clue how to solve them. Now we have internet and can watch the walkthrough. But it’s reducing the fun I think!

Crystalis NES game

Those puzzles are like in old quests. Or modern point and click games. Where player have to click everything, and have to try every item he has on everything. Because there is no logic at all. You can’t guess the right thing to do!

On the other side, in our beloved The Guardian Legend the puzzles in adventure mode of the game are way too easy. All you do is just find the room with a hint and solution is pretty obvious right away.

Puzzles in Adventure mode

If there any chance some similar game or a sequel appears(and we know there was some attempts. And The Guardian Legend:Legacy project is also has some slow progression) then I would like to see some puzzles in there too. I think that was a neat feature. However they could be more clever and more intresting.

Optomon did a great job towards it with 2 of the puzzles in his The Guardian Legend: Secret Edition

“He afraids of light” made no sense at first but then I guessed what to do by myself. Yes took me like 15 minutes. But it really made sense, so finding the solution did bring satisfaction.

Such a thoughts about puzzles in The Guardian Legend adventure mode. Have a nice day!

Top Ten SHMUPs of All Time

By the preferences of Dude Quest.

A pretty sweet list of top ten SHMUPs of all time is actually are favorites by this guy. But the list is great for sure and it has the game by Compile mentioned. If you did not know Compile developed The Guardian Legend. That’s why there are some similarities in the Space Megaforce.

Don’t blame author too much for not including some powerfull titles that could beat some mentioned games 🙂

Video Share by community members

We have a video share section in the community forum. It dedicated to the original game – The Guardian Legend. I think maybe to change it so it would be about other games as well? Memebers do like many other games besides TGL. So it might be a good thing to share other games too. Also it might attract the other people who never played TGL.

Should it be dedicated to some specific range of games? Like SHMUPs and adventures, NES, retro stuff? I don’t really know 🙂 But if some good content I would put it here on front page sometimes.

Let me share some video for you. It is some random playable mockup of the prequel. As the author said it is like a training program on earth where Miria trains to battle inside of simulation. I guess it is stopped at there and will never be continued. But worth a look. You may try to ask the author to share it as is. He only uploaded the video and never gave it to play.

Metroid Rogue Down release announced

Hello guys,

Maybe you know maybe not. There was a hack started on the Metroid NES game in 2014 – Metroid – Rogue Dawn. So here is good news for you. It will be released very soon!  Saturday 1/14/2017

This will be the best Metroid NES hack obviously. And maybe a best NES game hack ever made so far. The graphics is great. The levels done like almost none of the NES game ever have. At least none of the platformers.

There are amazing secrets, many easter eggs and surprising references. The animations are improved since the trailer we saw half year ago.

This hack is very expected by many people. Especially by Metroid fans. So have a look if you haven’t seen yet. But remember the animations are improved since the trailer released. So it would look even better than in the teaser Trailer.
