Playing as Casey

This kind of stuff was like a dream in childhood. Using emulator’s cheats we can make what was impossible with the game.

It did upset me Casey could not be chosen to play story mode in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters on NES.

This is possible to do using RAM address of the player position. That also means it is possible to do that with game genie. With Hothead and Shredder that would make the game crash at the battle with Shredder. On emulator it is possible to turn the cheat OFF at the place where the game crash and then turn it ON again.

Here I recorded story mode playthrough with Casey Jones. I also added fun camera edits for more interesting look.

I also prefer this game over Sega and SNES version. It has more fun gameplay and superior physics feel over them.

Senjin Aleste (戦刃アレスタ, War Blade Aleste)

Another Aleste Sequel by M2. Published by Sega.

This game supposed to be on Nintendo Switch and some other consoles, but I think it’s still available only on Arcades.

This game is quite different from previous Aleste series. It’s a bullet hell. It maybe has a little bit resemble with visual style. But the gameplay is different.

Player can switch between 4 ships during gameplay. Ships are also counted as live. When player loses a ship he can’t use it anymore.

What if The Guardian Legend is a platformer?(sort of)

This is fun. Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link randomizer has an option to switch sprite to another. This is how Miria sprite looks like in it. Yes she is green. But NES limitations made that way that if she was red then everything around that uses the same color would be red.

And by the way have you noticed that the music in map walking view in Zelda 2 has some similarities with The Guardian Legend start tune(Approaching Naju)?

Astrolancer new demo soon

Stuffman continues to develop the game “Astrolancer”(inspired by The Guardian Legend). Said he is putting out the new demo on this weekend. So, I guess, you will be able to play flying stages as well.

King of Fighters XV

A bit late I saw there is an official trailer for King of Fighters XV shown several days ago.

I played King of Fighters in 00’s on emulators. KOF 98, 2000 mostly. And a bit of 2002 UM. This new 15th episode reminds of 90’s style a lot. Which I think is good.

It’s a great fighting franchise. With fun gameplay and very stylish anime characters. My favorites are King and K’. I also love Rock from GAROU and I think they will have him in this one too.

Too bad I don’t have Playstation or modern PC to play it. I would like to try.
