The Guardian Legend Legacy stream

The Guardian Legend Legacy stream recently played by some russian guy. If you did not know about that project then you can see what it is. I am not sure if they keep doing it because I am away from russian social network VKontakte.

In that game you can choose your primary weapon and your subweapon. The walking stages are randomly generated. So each time you start a new game it will have different map.

If you want to annoy author and tell him to continue the work then here is his youtube channel.

And here is this project page on facebook. You can find the download link there.

Or you can reach him on our forum!

The Guardian Legend on Discord

Hey guys. Sorry I am so bussy. I created The Guardian Legend on Discord chat https://discord.gg/93C68CT. So join the chat and you can drop some intresting stuff there. Maybe a fan art or music for The Guardian Legend. Or maybe some intresting video or a game that could be featured on this page.

The Guardian Legend on Discord

So yeah. I am still busy with promoting my game Orbox C. And it probably will take few more months. If you want to support me then you can try free version of the game. Orbox C Free. If you like it and buy it then please leave review on game’s Steam page. It’s great puzzle game so give the free version a try.

I want to make a video review of Contra: Revenge of The Red Falcon, and Contra Locked ‘N’ Loaded. And because I am too busy I don’t know when I could do that. I already recorded the walkthrough of the Revenge of The Red Falcon. Now I need record some voice review over it.

Revenge of The Red Falcon is modification of the NES Contra. It’s intresting. It’s much harder and levels are longer.

Locked ‘N’ Loaded I think not really modification but builded on some engine. But it’s like modification on Alien Wars. It lacks in graphic quality a bit but it’s OK. I would record some gameplay of it and make review. Basically it’s good 3.5/5 game, so you can give it a go without waiting for me. It’s free game anyway.

Contra Locked 'N' Loaded

Bye for now 🙂

Did you miss me?

Hi everyone, did you miss me?
did you miss me?

My thoughts were far away for a while. But now is a good reason to write something. I can say this again and again. That we need to bring more modern presentation to the site. How to do that? I have no idea and have no much time to do research. But I hope with time that can be managed. Would be great if some people could help me a little.

So what’s new there around The Guardian Legend? First of all this cover version of the title screen music. It’s a quite nice one. Also author mentions that he likes the game a lot and have nostalgia feeling about it. Which is good as he made this music with more care than just to get attention around retro buzz.

If you wonder where is this picture of the Miria from, it’s from here: thirdhalf.net/sad2-36-another-compilation/

Also the author replied me about the other picture there. He said it was just some doodle drawing from the stream request. So. I guess we will not get this one more than a draft. Which is probably is okay. This is a bit like a parody looking one 🙂

Thanks everyone who is around The Guardian Legend. If you have some ideas of site improvements, let me know! See ya!

More special modes for Miria

I stumbled upon that tweet. Those poses are really intresting. And this instantly gives an idea about more special modes for Miria in The Guardian Legend. She could have more versatile backpack.

Fore example that bow pose looks like for some powerful strike. That would work only in walking adventure mode. The other intresting pose is for softer and maneuver flying. She could fly to any XYZ direction with this. And very fast change the direction. And the third pose, I don’t know. Could be some other sort of fire mode or cutting the walls.

I think there could be a special section in the Gallery for stuff like that. And check that tweet it has more images.

Compile Design Documents

Hey,

If you remember there was a video a year ago showing some docs from Compile. There were Guardian Legend, MUSHA, and Aleste Gaiden.

Now you can see those on the web. Pretty intresting. I have no idea what is written. It’s in japanese.

I think each of those pictures was the idea of each stage. And that is quite terrible! Just look at that nose, haha! Crazy!

TGL Secret Edition Corridor Rush

Here is TGL Secret Edition Corridor Rush Mode by Charly. I asked him share some impressions. He written about the whole hack tho:

Well, just like the original version, you will be given all the items if you have a certain amount of money (or score… I don’t know), just the same as the original one, except that you will have all the weapon earlier than the original one. There are a lot of differences in this version and the original one. Optomon sure modified a lot of things here such as the map, the bosses (green Fleepa, orange Zib Zub, blue & red Teramute, green Eyegore, Green Grimgrin, Orange Optomon, Green IT – which used to to be the final boss of the original version, Orange Clawbot, Orange Bombarder), and also he add some big bosses as mini-bosses (there’s only one in the original version) to increase the difficulty. The best mini-boss in this version are probably the Red Optomon and Red Grimgrin.

All the way to remove all the 10 seals are totally different (except for the 1st one). The repeated weapon and items were replaced with Blue Lander or Red Lander, the shop (buy 1 of 3 items) will be harder to buy, the Corridor 21 background is different, the musics in Area 5 and Area 9 are changed, the background of the Boss Rush (Corridor 21) is different but I prefer this one more than the desert theme, and finally the different final boss : 3 Gliders with one blue, one orange and one red which will be activated by defeating the 1st 2 gliders. This final boss is much difficult than the original one. Be patient, make your way to dodge their pattern, the missiles are the big threats in this case. Can you believe that 3 gliders are the final boss in this game which make a lot of gamers have difficulty in beating the game? Probably yes, the red one moves like a berserker and release 2 red missiles which is hard to dodge. The longest boss is the Orange Bombarder, which took me about 5 mins to defeat.

Very Nice Fan Art Miria

Look at that. Very nice view on the costume. Just as I see the Miria in the game. That is the way how I always seen her. Not a bikini and skin but some cover! If you look closer to the details artist made, it is visible that this is not a human body. Only her head is human. I think that belly button was not necessary tho. I guess this is done considering general public demands to exaggerate sexiness in games fan arts.

That blaster does look belong to the Guardian Legend universe. Not ideal probably. I don’t think such a cyborg needs to press trigger with a finger to shoot. But it’s OK and acceptable. I’d agree to play a sequel with such a gun.

I think artist captured the feel of the game pretty well! At least that’s how I feel too 🙂

Thank you Stephen for this great fan art!

You can visit the original page where I found it. There are several pictures showing the progress from a sketch to a finished drawing. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3m58g

You can find more fan art in the Gallery. You can see the picture details with full size in the Gallery.
